Privacy policy
Pros Cam, by Fobia. Last changed 25 October 2026.
Pros Cam is an all-in-one app for making social videos on your phone: recording, laying out the picture, editing and sharing, with a script that follows your voice when you want one. This page says what the app does with your information. The short version: your videos and scripts stay on your iPhone, we do not know who you are, and we do not sell or share anything for advertising. The exception is the optional cloud backup of a paid plan: if you use it, a copy of your videos, photos and edits is kept in the cloud; see "Cloud backup" below. Going live and sending to other services also involve those services, but only if you connect an account; see their sections below.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your videos, photos and scripts. Recordings, edits, captions and scripts are kept in the app on your device. We never receive them, with two exceptions that happen only when you ask for them or switch them on: "Voice enhancement" and "Cloud backup", below.
- The camera and microphone. Used to record your takes. Nothing is recorded unless you start a take.
- Your photo library. Read only for the videos and photos you pick, and written to only when you save a finished video.
- Finding your face. "Keep me in frame" finds where your face is in the picture so it can follow you. This is done on your iPhone, is not face recognition, and is not sent anywhere.
What we receive
When the app is first opened it registers itself with our server so that invitations and subscriptions can work. It sends:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| An identifier made up by the app for this installation | To tell one installation from another. It is not your Apple Account, phone number or advertising identifier, and is not tied to your name. |
| Your iPhone's model, system version and the app's version | To fix problems that only happen on some devices. |
| Your language and time zone | To understand where the app is used, in broad terms. |
| The plan you chose and when a trial began | To know what the installation may use. |
| A friend's invitation code, if you entered one | To credit the friend who invited you. |
| Which features you use and the settings a take was made with (for example the template, the frame shape, whether captions were on, how long the take was) | To learn which features are used and which are not, so we know what to improve. Never the video, the sound, the words of your script or anything you type. You can switch this off in Settings. |
We do not ask for your name, email address, contacts or precise location, and the app contains no advertising or tracking software.
Voice enhancement
If you choose "Enhance" for a take, the app asks first, then sends that take's sound, without the picture, to our server. Our server passes it to a third-party voice-processing provider, a company that cleans the audio for us and that we may change over time, and returns the cleaned sound to your iPhone. Our server does not keep the sound. It keeps a record that an enhancement was made, how long the sound was and what it cost, so that the limits of your plan can be applied. That provider handles the sound under its own privacy policy.
Cloud backup
Cloud backup is optional. It comes with the paid plans that include it and is off for anyone on another plan. If your plan includes it, the app keeps a copy of your work in the cloud, so that you can bring it back on a new iPhone or after you have removed it to free space.
- What we store. The files of your takes and photos: the camera's video and sound files, voice recordings, pictures put behind you or into an edit, and photo originals with what was done to them. Also the settings of each edit (which can include captions and text you added), your saved drafts, a take's name, date, length and small cover picture, and a list of the files that have been backed up, with their size and a checksum. Videos you have exported are not backed up: they can be made again.
- Where. The files are stored with Cloudflare, who provide the storage, and go there straight from your iPhone; they do not pass through our server. They are kept under a random identifier that our server links to your installation and your plan. The identifier contains no name or email address, and we do not ask for either. The list of files, the edit settings and the drafts are kept on our server.
- Checking the app. So that only the real app can ask to store files, the app uses Apple's App Attest. Our server keeps the public part of the key it makes for your installation.
- Deleting on your iPhone deletes the copy. When you delete a take, photo or draft in the app, its copy in the cloud is deleted too, unless you switch this off in Settings, under Account, with "Delete from the cloud too". If your iPhone has no connection at that moment, the copy is deleted when it next has one. Deleting the app, or bringing your work back onto an iPhone, does not delete the cloud copy.
- When your plan ends. The backup is kept for 90 days (14 days if you only ever had a free trial) so that you can bring it back or delete it; nothing new is added. If you subscribe again within that time it carries on. After that it is deleted. While the plan has ended, deleting on your iPhone does not delete the cloud copy.
- Deleting everything. "Delete all cloud data" in Settings, under Account, removes everything we hold for the backup at once. You can also ask us to delete it by writing to support@pros.cam.
Speech recognition
To move your script as you speak, and to write captions from your voice when you ask, the app uses Apple's speech recognition. Where your language allows, this happens on your iPhone. Otherwise the sound is sent to Apple and handled under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive it.
AI that comes with your plan
If your plan includes AI and you use it to write or improve a script, the app asks first, then sends the text you have typed to our server. For a motion design it sends what you typed, the words spoken in the take if there are any, and a few small still frames of the video. Our server passes these to a third-party AI provider, a company whose model writes for us and that we may change over time, and returns what it writes to your iPhone. Our server does not keep the text or the pictures. It keeps a record that a request was made, what it was for and how large it was, so that the limits of your plan can be applied. That provider handles the content under its own privacy policy.
AI features with your own keys
If you add your own key for Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, the text you ask the app to improve, and for motion design a few small still frames of your video, are sent directly from your iPhone to that provider under your account with them. We do not receive this content or your keys. Keys are kept in your iPhone's Keychain. The on-device model, if you download it, sends nothing anywhere.
Sending a video to TikTok
Pros Cam can send a finished video to your TikTok inbox as a draft. This works only if you choose "Send to TikTok" and connect your TikTok account. Nothing is posted for you: you open TikTok, add your caption and decide whether to post.
- What we keep. When you connect, TikTok tells us your TikTok account's open ID (a number TikTok gives your account for this app), your display name and the link to your profile picture, and gives our server access tokens that let the app act for you within what you allowed. Our server keeps these, with the tokens encrypted, linked to your installation's identifier, until you disconnect or ask us to delete them. The tokens are never stored on your iPhone, and your iPhone is only given a short-lived access token when it is about to send a video.
- What we ask TikTok for. Two permissions and no more: user.info.basic, to show which TikTok account is connected, and video.upload, to place a draft in your inbox. We do not ask to post for you, and we do not read your TikTok videos, followers or messages.
- Your video. It goes from your iPhone straight to TikTok. It does not pass through our server and we do not keep a copy. TikTok handles it under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Disconnecting. Choose Disconnect in the app's Settings, under TikTok. We then tell TikTok to end our access and delete the tokens and the profile details we kept. You can also remove Pros Cam in TikTok under Settings and privacy, Security and permissions, Apps and services; the connection then stops working, and you can ask us to delete what remains.
Going live to YouTube
Pros Cam can go live to your own YouTube channel. This works only if you choose YouTube in Stream and connect your Google account. When you press Go live, the app asks our server to create the live broadcast on your channel, and sends your video and sound to YouTube from your iPhone.
- What we ask Google for. One permission and no more: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl, which lets the app create and manage the live broadcasts and streams on your YouTube channel. We use it only to create the broadcast you ask for, to see whether YouTube is receiving it, to start it and to end it, and to show the name and picture of the channel that is connected. While you are live we also use it, for your screen only, to show how many people are watching, the broadcast's likes and how many subscribers your channel has (the number, never who they are); to change the broadcast's title when you ask; and, when you choose to, to post your message in its chat, delete a message, or time out or ban a viewer from it. We do not read, change or delete your other videos, comments or playlists, and we do not read who your subscribers are or your private messages.
- What we keep. Google gives our server access tokens that let it act for you within what you allowed. Our server keeps these, encrypted, with your channel's identifier, name and the link to its picture, and the identifiers of the broadcasts we created for you (for a week), linked to your installation's identifier, until you disconnect or ask us to delete them. The tokens are never stored on your iPhone. The stream key YouTube makes for each broadcast is given to your iPhone to send with, and is not kept by us or saved on your iPhone.
- Your video and sound. They go from your iPhone straight to YouTube. They do not pass through our server and we do not keep a copy. YouTube handles them under its own terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for having the right to what you show and say.
- Chat. If you turn the chat on while you are live, our server reads the chat of your broadcast from YouTube for you, using the same permission, and passes the messages to your iPhone: the names and words of the people who wrote, their public channel identifier (so that you can time them out), and for a Super Chat, a Super Sticker, a new member or gifted memberships, the amount, the sticker's description, the level or the number. Not their pictures. We do not keep them.
- Disconnecting. Choose Disconnect in Stream, under Where to stream, with YouTube chosen. We then tell Google to end our access and delete the tokens and the channel details we kept. You can also remove Pros Cam in your Google Account under Security, Third-party apps and services (myaccount.google.com/permissions); the connection then stops working, and you can ask us to delete what remains.
- Children. YouTube asks whether a live stream is made for kids. The app asks you and never answers for you.
- Google's rules. Pros Cam's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this information only to provide the live streaming feature you chose, and we do not sell it, use it for advertising or share it with others. By using this feature you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's own handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Going live to Twitch
Pros Cam can go live to your own Twitch channel. This works only if you choose Twitch in Stream and connect your Twitch account. When you press Go live, the app asks our server for your channel's stream key and sets the title and category you chose, and sends your video and sound to Twitch from your iPhone.
- What we ask Twitch for. Seven permissions and no more: channel:read:stream_key, to read your stream key, and channel:manage:broadcast, to set your channel's title and category, before and while you are live. We also use them to see whether Twitch is showing your channel live and how many people are watching, and to show the name and picture of the channel that is connected. For your screen while you are live: moderator:read:followers, to show how many people follow you and the names of the newest few; channel:read:subscriptions, to show how many subscribe (the number, never who they are); and, only when you choose to, user:write:chat to post your message in your chat, moderator:manage:chat_messages to delete a message, and moderator:manage:banned_users to time out or ban a viewer. We do not post anything you did not write, and we do not read your private messages or anything else.
- What we keep. Twitch gives our server access tokens that let it act for you within what you allowed. Our server keeps these, encrypted, with your channel's identifier, name and the link to its picture, linked to your installation's identifier, until you disconnect or ask us to delete them. The tokens are never stored on your iPhone. Your stream key is read from Twitch each time you go live and given to your iPhone to send with; it is not kept by us or saved on your iPhone.
- Your video and sound. They go from your iPhone straight to Twitch. They do not pass through our server and we do not keep a copy. Twitch handles them under its own terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for having the right to what you show and say.
- Chat. A Twitch channel's chat is public. If you turn the chat on while you are live, the app reads your channel's chat from your iPhone, joining as a guest by the channel's name. This does not use your sign-in and does not pass through our server, and nothing is kept. To draw the emotes people use, the app fetches their pictures from Twitch, and the lists of your channel's emotes from BetterTTV and 7TV, two public emote services, by your channel's public identifier; nothing about you or your viewers is sent to them.
- Disconnecting. Choose Disconnect in Stream, under Where to stream, with Twitch chosen. We then tell Twitch to end our access and delete the tokens and the channel details we kept. You can also remove Pros Cam in your Twitch settings, under Connections; the connection then stops working, and you can ask us to delete what remains.
Going live to Kick
Pros Cam can go live to your own Kick channel. This works only if you choose Kick in Stream and connect your Kick account. When you press Go live, the app asks our server for your channel's stream key and sets the title and category you chose, and sends your video and sound to Kick from your iPhone.
- What we ask Kick for. Eight permissions and no more: user:read, to show which Kick account is connected; channel:read, to see your channel, whether Kick is showing it live, to how many, and how many subscribe; streamkey:read, to read your stream key; channel:write, to set your channel's title and category, before and while you are live; events:subscribe, to receive your channel's chat messages, and its new followers, subscriptions, gifted subscriptions and Kicks; and, only when you choose to, chat:write to post your message in your chat, moderation:chat_message:manage to delete a message, and moderation:ban to time out or ban a viewer. We do not post anything you did not write, and we do not use these permissions for anything else.
- What we keep. Kick gives our server access tokens that let it act for you within what you allowed. Our server keeps these, encrypted, with your channel's identifier, name and the link to its picture, linked to your installation's identifier, until you disconnect or ask us to delete them. The tokens are never stored on your iPhone. Your stream key is read from Kick each time you go live and given to your iPhone to send with; it is not kept by us or saved on your iPhone.
- Your video and sound. They go from your iPhone straight to Kick. They do not pass through our server and we do not keep a copy. Kick handles them under its own terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for having the right to what you show and say.
- Chat. Kick sends the messages written in your channel's chat, and your channel's new followers, subscriptions, gifted subscriptions and Kicks, to our server, and our server gives them to your iPhone. This happens only while you have the chat turned on in the app. We keep each message for ten minutes, and only while the chat is on: the sender's name, their public Kick identifier (so that you can time them out), the words, and whether the sender is the channel's owner, a moderator or a subscriber; for the other events, only the name of who followed, subscribed or gifted, and how many. We do not keep anything else Kick sends, such as pictures. Turning the chat off, ending the stream or disconnecting stops this.
- Disconnecting. Choose Disconnect in Stream, under Where to stream, with Kick chosen. We then tell Kick to end our access, close the chat connection and delete the tokens and the channel details we kept. You can also remove Pros Cam in your Kick settings, among the apps you have allowed; the connection then stops working, and you can ask us to delete what remains.
Subscriptions and purchases
Subscriptions are bought through Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells our server that a subscription connected to your installation's identifier has started, renewed, ended or been refunded, and which plan it is. We use this to switch the plan's features on and off and to credit invitations.
Web pages you open
If you record over a website, the app loads that page as a browser would, and that website receives what any website receives from a visitor.
How long we keep things
The registration record is kept while the installation is in use. Records of voice enhancements are kept as long as they are needed for accounts and limits. Records of how the app is used are kept for up to two years. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone. The connections to TikTok, YouTube, Twitch and Kick are kept until you disconnect or ask us to delete them. Chat messages from Kick are kept for ten minutes, and chat from YouTube and Twitch is not kept. A cloud backup is kept while your plan includes it, until you delete it, or for 90 days after the plan ends (14 days if you only ever had a free trial), and is then deleted. To have the record for your installation removed from our server, contact us.
Sharing
We share information only with the companies that run the service for us: Google Cloud, which hosts our server, Cloudflare, which stores the files of your cloud backup if you use it, a third-party voice-processing provider, for the sound you ask to have enhanced, and a third-party AI provider, for the text and pictures you ask our AI to work on. When you connect an account of TikTok, YouTube, Twitch or Kick, or send or stream to it, information goes to that service as described in its section. We do not sell information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Children
Pros Cam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
- Camera, microphone, photo library and speech recognition access can each be switched off in your iPhone's Settings.
- Voice enhancement and the AI features send nothing unless you use them.
- Going live and sending a video to TikTok happen only if you connect an account and use them. You can disconnect at any time, as described in each section, and turn the chat off whenever you like.
- Cloud backup is part of the plans that include it. You can stop the app deleting from the cloud when you delete on your iPhone, delete all cloud data, or ask us to delete it, as described under "Cloud backup".
- Sharing how the app is used can be switched off in the app's Settings, under Recording. When it is off, nothing more is sent.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete information held about you. Because we do not know who you are, we will ask for the code shown on the app's Invite screen to find your installation's record.
